National parks & nature reserves in Tanzania – your adventure awaits you

Tanzania’s sixteen national parks are amongst the oldest, most beautiful and well known in the world. The diversity of their vast savannah landscapes makes each one unique. A safari here is a lasting experience.

In der Serengeti keine Löwen zu sehen, ist fast ein Ding der Unmöglichkeit.

Africa’s largest reserve is located in Tanzania: the Selous Game Reserve. The Mikumi National Park is located just to the north. The Udzungwa mountain range with its one-of-a-kind waterfalls and a spectacular bird habitat lies to the west. The reserves and parks to the south are a bit more expansive and peaceful.

The Tanzanian people know how to value this cultural heritage. There’s a strong tradition of maintaining the parks and protecting their wildlife. Over fifty years ago, Tanzania’s first president stated: “The untamed creatures in their natural environments are not only the source of wonderment and inspiration, but an indispensable part of our natural treasures and our future quality of life.”

In every location, Twende Tanzania knows the rich diversity of the fauna, the flora and the terrain of the country. So the programme is based entirely on your expectations – and need not concentrate only on the best-known national parks.
