Lake Manyara National Park

Perfect for ornithologists and birdwatchers

Lake Manyara National Park is one of the smallest parks in Tanzania. For bird lovers, however, it is a big hit: around 400 bird species can be observed here. The park also boasts an incredibly diverse landscape.

Small but mighty! This aptly describes Lake Manyara National Park. With an area of around 325 square kilometers, it is one of the smaller national parks in the country. Depending on the season, Lake Manyara takes up around two thirds of the entire park area. Ernest Hemingway described the salt lake as the most beautiful he had seen in Africa. Anyone who sees it, harmoniously embedded in mountain slopes, forests, swamps and savannah, understands this immediately.
