Lake Burunge Tented Lodge
Comfort at the picturesque Lake Burunge
Lake Burunge Tented Lodge is nestled in a natural corridor between Tarangire and Lake Manyara, directly on the shores of the beautiful Lake Burunge. It welcomes its guests with homely charm and excellent value for money. The lodge is the perfect place to relax after a day in Tarangire National Park. It is located not far from the park and directly on the shores of Lake Burunge and its comfort and excellent value for money make a stay here a complete success.

Lake Burunge Tented Lodge consists of twenty tents on wooden platforms and ten permanent lodge rooms. Like Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge, Burunge Lodge is also part of the Tanganyika Wilderness Camps. All rooms at the lodge have private bathrooms and terraces. The elegant main building houses the dining room with indoor and outdoor areas, where dinner is served under the stars in good weather. Guests can also look forward to a lounge with bar and an inviting infinity pool. Last but not least, there is an open fireplace where you can relax in the evening and reflect on the day.

The entrance to Tarangire National Park can be reached from the lodge in around twenty minutes by car. Animals can be spotted here all year round, for example elephants: Because it is home to huge herds of elephants in the dry season, Tarangire Park is also known as the “park of elephants”. However, giraffes, buffaloes and zebras can also be seen and, with a bit of luck, you might come across one of the rare African wild dogs. If you also have an eye for scenic features, you will be impressed by the enormous size and special shapes of the baobabs, which are native to the park.

But you will also come across a variety of animals directly around Lake Burunge Tented Lodge: Hundreds of flamingos can be observed here. You can also expect to see monkeys on your own veranda. Nestled in a natural corridor between Lake Manyara and Tarangire, Lake Burunge Lodge is also ideally situated to witness the spectacle of the “Great Migration”, depending on the season.
A stay at Burunge Lodge could of course be rounded off with a fishing trip in the nearby lake. Or with one of the guided “Nature Walks” in the area. The so-called “sundowners” – drinks at sunset in an elevated location surrounded by wilderness – are also guaranteed to be unforgettable.
